APPOINTMENT OF THE NATIONAL INDIGENISATION AND ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT BOARD







The public and all other stakeholders are hereby advised that the Minister of Youth Development, Indigenisation and Empowerment has, in terms of section 7 (1) of the Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Act [Chapter 14:33} appointed new members of the National Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Board with immediate effect.




The following are the members of the new Board:



Lt.-General (Rtd) Nyambuya Chairman

Mr. G. Magosvongwe         Acting Secretary for Youth Development, Indigenisation & Empowerment.

Dr. E. Gwaradzimba           Dean of Students at Africa University. Member of the outgoing Board.

Mr I. M. Hamandishe
Young Entrepreneur

Mr. T. Mungoni                   National Research & Advocacy Officer of the National Association of Societies for the Care of the Disabled (NASCOH).

Mr. F. Mutamangira.   Legal Practitioner. Member of the outgoing Board.

Dr J. T. Chipika                  Economics Lecturer


Mr. B. Muchemwa              Economic Consultant and Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Oxlink Capital (Pvt) Ltd.

Mr A. Molai                         Founder and Chairman of Savanna Tobacco Company. Member of the outgoing Board.

Mrs T. Nkomo                   Bulawayo Businesswoman.

Mrs. F. E. Ziumbe            Legal Practitioner and Senior Partner.

Dr Charity Manyeruke  Acting Chairperson and lecturer for the Department of Political and Administrative Studies at the University of Zimbabwe.

Mr. P. Mupazviriho        Secretary for Mines and Mining Development. Member of the outgoing Board.

Mrs. E. Ndhlovu              Secretary for Small and Medium Enterprise and Cooperative Development.

Mrs. A. Shonhiwa.          Secretary for Industry and Commerce.

The new board will be expected to, among other things:



Ensure that all qualifying business comply with the indigenisation and economic empowerment legislation.

Complete the development of the National Empowerment Policy Framework.

Implement empowerment programmes across the country.

Carry out awareness programmes on the National Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment programme.
